Jeff Davine specializes in assisting nonprofit entities, and their donors, with planned giving issues. He also advises for-profit clients with their tax issues, including tax controversy matters with the IRS, the California Franchise Tax Board, the California Employment Development Department and other state and local taxing authorities. Jeff is a partner in the Tax Department at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP, Jeff was a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the IRS.
Jeff received his BS (Accounting and Finance) degree from U.C. Berkeley in 1982 and his JD degree from the UCLA School of Law in 1985. Jeff has been recognized as a Southern California "Super Lawyer" (2004-2006, 2009-2019) and has received an AV (Preeminent) Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Jeff was previously a member of the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel, a "civilian" panel providing advice/counsel to the IRS.
